VDI
VDI short for Virtual Disk Images a VirtualBox file, is a x86 virtualization software package which is very popular for running Windows program on Linux.
The software is freeware, and distributed by Sun Microsystems.
The VDI is unfortunately incompatible with common virtualization packages so must use VirtualBox. Uniquely, VB can connect to iSCSI targets to become virtual hard disks.
You can mount images, ISO images within the VirtualBox.
