This profile 1.0 player has been a pretty solid and reliable performer for me for the past >1 year. It replaced a Samsung BDP1000. It can play any BluRay disc that I throw at it, even rentals with significant scratching and smudging. I would seriously consider another Panasonic - the DMP-BD50 - when I upgrade to the BD Live 2.0 spec.
