The Xbox 360 is worth the price. I would say it fits more in the multiplayer aspect than the single player. That does not mean, SP is left out in the 360 ! The only problem I can see is the RROD issue, and the noise created by the machine while playing games.

Its primary function is gaming & as expected does it well like the original & so it should any other crap thats added apart from online play is nothn more than useless gimmik junk so ya know where can place the streaming, movie watching or web browsing, yep thats right you can stick it
on a comp where it belongs
what did you think i was going to say :p
Since I've got the xbox 360 I've been pretty happy with it. I haven't had any hardware problems or for that matter no problems at all. The only thing I find is that I don't play any of the shooting games like Halo 3, Gears of War 2 etc. Because I don't like those kind of games. But a part from that I think it's a fantastic console with lots to offer.
A good console, expecially when using xbox live. Halo 3 reguarly has 200k+ people online, and a lot more people on cod than on ps3. Also there are some good exclusive titles like left 4 dead, halo 3, halo wars etc.
Personally I think they are a little overpriced, but supposedly microsoft is going to dump the pro and make elite and arcades cheaper. Also a bigger hard drive would be nice.
I foolishly purchased this unit without doing the research on software. I own a PC that can thrash any game on the market today, and didn't realise that getting Xbox titles on the PC was just a waiting game. Henceforth, I don't use the unit.
Other wise (without my cpu) I would say that it is the sweet spot in gaming consoles today.
New units are re-engineered to fail far less and the microsoft exclusive titles beat the shit out of Sony. Even Final Fantasy will be coming to the box....
With the lack of a Bluray player, the 200 dollars in this economy is a bit much, if you already have your 360 its well worth it, but to all future buyers unless you really know that you want only Microsoft Exclusive content, just hold off and wait for it to come out for the PC or PS3.
Yes the amount of DLC, and Exclusives is rather high, -but- most of the Exclusives are not contract based, but base by lazy publishers. Sometime in the future we may see a migration of DLC and Exclusive titles to the PS3, and possibly the PC that already shares more in common with the 360. (if you have vista, you know what I mean lol)
Bottomline - 200-250 USD, Save it.
I'm not a Sony Fanboy, I'm a PC relatively hardcore PC gamer, if your -reasonable- with your money, you can get this system used for 100-175 USD, and thats the only time its worth it.
In my Opinion if you really don't want to blow 30 USD a month for Xbox live,(and thats really my only complaint) you should really consider just hold out, or Firmware Hack it and play over LAN/SystemLink with friends.
The xbox 360 is a modern engineering failure.
dont let those bogus numbers released by M$ fool you, the defect rate on all xbox360s made up until recently was 100%, every last one was made wrong, and the failure rate was above 50%.
well never know how bad it was, only M$ will, but it was BAD. just ask all your friends if their box broke, something tells me you'll find that more than a measly 15% got the RROD, more like 80%.
when you return your busted box they refuse to send you a new one, all they do is send you another beat up defective one that they "fixed". oh yeh and they'll take 5 weeks to do it and they might not even refund your live subscription for that time.
i am on my third elite. it load slow and has really bad popup and the drive is loud as shit. its obviously far from a properly functioning xbox.
if you get a box, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BUY IT FROM COSTCO OR WAL MART SO YOU CAN RETURN IT UNCONDITIONALY AND GET A *NEW* REPLACEMENT INSTANTLY. DONT PUT UP WITH M$' GARBAGE.
honestly unless you are addicted to halo 3 like me just get the ps3.
I own both the 360, and PS3. By far the 360 has given me the most problems, the first 360 died right after it's 1 year warranty. My 2nd one has not given me any problems but that's because I haven't really used it in a year. MS is rippin us off by charging for xbox live, and before people say MS needs to make $, well I don't see Sony charging me anything for playing online. By the time you by the wireless adaptor, the control charger, xbox live and the larger HDD you've basically bought a PS3 with no Blu ray player. MS, I will never buy another game machine from you as long as your business practice remains the same.
xbox beats ps3 hands down. ps3 is basically a blu ray player with some bonus features. xbox you can do so much more, online is better and so are the games. yes my xbox has RROD'd but everything good in life breaks. just gotta want it.
I've seen so many broken X0s that it's just sad. It's well-priced, it has HDMI, good games, and such. Only problem is LIVE. But as long as there are those horrible RRODs and other problem which MS won't cover, people will not buy it.
Microsoft, make better console next time. You already lost many customers, don't lose the ones who are still with you.
ITS OKI BOUGHT 2 WIRELESS CONTROLERS AND 360 SYSTEM WITH NO/HDMI ABOUT 7 MONTHS AGO FOR 200.00 ON EBAY PICKIT UP ABOUT 3 MILES FROM MY HOUSE HAVE HAD RED LIGHTS BUT THE PROBLEM IS THE EXTRA FAN THAT CAME WITH IT GETS LOOSE SO THE 360 GETS UNPLUGED ALITTLE AND SCREEN COMES UP AND SAYS CALL MICROSOFT FIX BY TURNING OFF PUSH PLUG IN AND PUT DUCKTAPE ALMOST AROUND THE HOLE SYSTEM WORKS FINE SINCE 4/5 AWSOME GAMES LIKE LEFT FOR DEAD AND GEARS1 AND2 XBOX LIVE IS CRAZY AWSOME
It has good games, but whats the point of having a console when every time you want to play it mysteriously dies. Crap hardware, the fact that M$ is able to sell it for $199.99 just goes to show how cheap the hardware is. This is my 3rd 360, the 360 has such a long time on the market and STILL they have'nt been able to correct theyr hardware problems, never again will I buy a M$ product.
I would rate it with zero stars but 1 is the lowest i bought one and no less then a week later had red lights long story short after my 3rd one i sold it ... like always money hungry M$ makes you buy everything you want a wireless controller sure now you have to buy AA's all the time or buy a rechargeable pack that doesnt come with a charger wtf is that when it first came out you had to buy your own hdd you want less wires so you can play wirelessly give me whats in your wallet on the other hand ps3 anything u need is right there with it or just use 3rd party things like your own usb cable to charge it your own bluetooth headset built in wifi xbox sucks hands down ps3 is the best
Bought this to tied me over till the PS3 came, did the job, but definatly not the great console everyone makes it out to be.
Buying all the nessary stuff you need for it actually did cost more than when PS3 was released.
Plaqued with hardware problems, shite customer care, it was eventually traded in for a Wii.
Poor product. Never again Microsoft.
The xbox 360 is the ultimate gaming console that everyone that calls themselves a gamer must own. It has awesome graphics and online play with actual speaking is awesome. 20gb is a little limiting with the new features, so i had to go upgrade to a 120gb (kinda pricey though). Completely worth it: The achievement system will keep you entertained for countless hours. RROD is apparently a major issue but if you keep it cool then you're fine.
The xbox is a completely immersive entertainment experience. I dont think anyone can debate that. But with all the hardwar problems, it is garbage. Microsoft is basically treat customers horribly when they knowingly release units with this percentage of failure rate. they are winning the console war now, but it cannot possible last without quality improvments. they dont deserve it.
The HDMI is a nice bonus on its features, but its still a Frankenstein with hardware issues awash in barely average games not to mention that a subscription to use its better online features is silly now adays.
And before you start whining the PS3 has better hardware but all the other issue the 360 suffers from not to mention horrendous price points.
With that said the newest revision of the 360 should garner a 4/3 ifs its not made of duct tape and wank like the past revisions.....
The Xbox 360 Pro 60GB for 250$ with 4 games (on boxing day and 300$ usually)? Halo 3 for 20$? The Xbox 360 is actually a bargain for everything you get! I have the Xbox 360 20GB with HDMI and I've never had a RROD, nothing ever happened to my Xbox 360. Xbox 360 has the best exclusives such as Halo 3, Gears of War 2, exclusive content for GTA IV on Xbox 360 etc.
Currently, graphics on Xbox 360 are the same as on PS3 or better (here are the pros saying - http://www.gamespot.com/features/6162742/index.html ) and the Xbox 360 has awesome games and exclusives. For someone who doesn't need a HDD, 199$ is awesome for the Arcade (which you can find online for around 150$-175$ brand new). I bought mine for 350$ but still, I'm super satisfied. There are a lot of cheap 10$-20$ value games I find.
Excellent piece of machinery providing hours and hours of entertainment. I bought my 360 on the 21st of December, meaning it had a later motherboard than the earlier ones, (prone to the 3 red lights) yet 19 days later I had one red light (which a restart fixed) I then had a few red lights here and there again fixed by a restart. Then I recieved the 3 red lights about 6 times in a row for about 10 minutes, which solved itself. Very strange, but the xbox itself is still fine, just glad Microsoft gave us 3 years warranty.
The Xbox 360... an ok designed system. It has a nice number of pretty nice games, such as Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Halo 3, and Gears of War. Yet, the Playstation 3 still beats it, but if you want to know about that, look at the Playstation 3 reviews.
The 360 is pretty well priced, because it has a good number of games, and good graphics. However, it barely has many features. If you just want to get into games like Call of Duty 2, 3, and 4 or Halo 3, this is a good system for that.
