CDRWin gained popularity since it was able to offer a stable burning engine in the early CD-R market. However it has hardly evolved any further and competitors are far ahead of it.
Essentially CDRWin is a disc dublicator and it made the .BIN/.CUE image files popular in the Internet. It has limited RAW mode support to handle simple copy protections. It has some pre-mastering functions for file and audio discs.
The GUI is not very practical and especially pre-mastering functions are a pain in the butt to use. Non-protected discs can quickly be copied with CDRWin.
Overall CDRWin is somewhat usable as a dublicator for non-protected discs or as a .BIN/.CUE burner, but there are many better alternatives available. Compact and stable software.
Demo version is limited to 1x write speed. A MS-DOS version is available on the CDRWin homepage
UPDATE 18.06.2004: Since 3.9G, CDRWIN also supports DVD recordables.

I stopped using this Program about 2 years ago, Nero doses a better job and the interface is a lot cleaner.
