It looks like that a balance of power is being reached among the Plus and Minus camps in the battle of the leading DVD recordable format. Previously Apple has flagged strongly on the behalf of the DVD-R(W) but is now also going dual format in their upcoming OS X upgrade The Panther.
It really looks like that the industry is settling for the duopoly market situation. Most DVD recorders sold are dual format, and major operating systems have support for both. Also, the DVD players sold are improving in the DVD+R support. A situation of two equally supported formats instead of just one would be quite unique. Remember VHS vs. Beta?
