The European release date for the new Nintendo hand held gaming console has been set to mid March 2005. The suggested retail price is £99 (149 euros), and the price range of the games is around 19 to 29 pounds.
The success of the new Nintendo has been decent, being sold over 2.8 million units so far in U.S. and Japan. The competition in Europe will be fierce though, as the Sony PSP is expected to land here before the end of March.
The Nintendo DS is backwards compatible with Game Boy Advance. It has close range wireless communication and multi-player features. A music and video player features are offered as an additional media adapter. The launch is supported by 15 initial game titles, including Super Mario, Spiderman 2, Rayman DS and Tiger Woods PGA Tour. More then 120 titles are under development.
