The creator of Mario and Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto will be knighted by the Order of Arts and Letters in France. The honour will be given to three video game creators and is going to be presented on April 13th.
Miyamoto is not the only one to get the honour, he is in company with Frederick Raynal (Alone in the Dark, Little Big Adventure) and Michel Ancel (Rayman, King Kong and Beyond Good and Evil). The knights are required to have "significantly contributed to the enrichment of the French cultural inheritance."

The culture minister of France, Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres will grant the awards to these three pioneers, and therefore they will join such greats as Bruce Willis and James Joyce.
