ABC announced plans to release a web game based on their hit show Lost. ABC says this massive interactive game, namely The Lost Experience, will be largest game ever based on a TV show. The Lost Experience will feature a storyline different from the TV show, but by watching the show, the players will pick up information such as phone numbers for the game.
The Lost Experience will feature new characters and other content on the Hanso Foundation, the mysterious group behind the Dharma Initiative. This interactive game is designed to appeal fans and nonfans alike, and should be playable with or without any Lost TV show experience.
ABC is collaborating with 19 other media outlets in order to bring The Lost Experience all over the world. This experience will feature different clues in different parts of the world. The networks' senior vice president of marketing, Mike Benson says, "It's like a giant, worldwide, mysterious jigsaw puzzle that will come to life for all the world to solve." The first clue will be on the episode that will air May 3.
