Recently German newspaper Die Welt informed that the video game publisher Electronic Arts has acquired Phenomic. The German-based video game developer Phenomic is responsible for SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars, a real-time strategy combined with Diablo and Dungeon Siege-stylish game play.
SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars was released in May and even though the Electronic Entertainment Expo took most of the media attention a lot of people noticed that RTS had appeared on the shop shelves, and obviously EA did. At Games Convention in Leipzig, EA confirmed that it has bought Phenomic, and that the company will work under the name of EA Phenomic in future. EA didn't mention how much they paid for the company, but it won't have an impact on the industry giant.

Phenomic is currently working on an expansion, namely SpellForce 2: Dragon Storm, for the SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars, and in the future under the organisation of EA they will focus on developing real-time strategy games for both PC and console.
