According to Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, Apple is preparing to announce a massive fourth quarter.
The analyst says the company shipped 52 million iPhones during the quarter, 41 percent growth year-over-year.
iPhone 5 models are the bulk of the shipments, accounting for 35 million. The iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 still had strong sales, at 9.5 million and 7.3 million. Kuo cited supply chain checks for his figures.
On the tablet side, Kuo forecasted 23 million units shipped, a large 49 percent year-over-year increase. The new fourth-gen iPad will account for 9.3 million shipped units and the iPad mini will account for 8.2 million shipments.
Apple has been in the headlines recently after the WSJ reported that Apple was seeing weak iPhone 5 demand and was cutting shipments by 50 percent.
