According to reports, Bettini has also said that Slysoft will have a commercial Blu-ray disk-copying software available to the public by the end of 2007.
When will Sony learn?

Haha Awesome. Good going Slysoft, you are our philanthropists that fight off the evil that is Sony and all those other companies throwing the garbage into our video.
This is awesome, really makes me laugh. I wish the media would report on this to let people know that DRM is a mess and is unnecessary. I would love to see Sony's reaction to this. I wonder if they will make a comment on it. The studios can't be too thrilled with Sony at this point, or Slysoft.
LOL!
i'll believe it when i see it
but yeah, major pwnage if this is true
Well it does remain to be seen if this is a serious crack (in the sense that they have fundamentally broken BD+) or whether things go back to square 1 when they change BD+ (which is part of it's design).
It might be that from now on it's a lot easier (as AACS is turning out to be) but it does remain to be seen.
The problem with BD+ is not just about ripping discs, it's how it can create havoc with your kit.
If your kit isn't 'just so' & properly recognised etc etc then you can be left stuck waiting on patches, updates and so on
(just as some new HDCP monitors aren't yet 'known' and a patch is awaited).
It's all such unnecessary inconvenience and it doesn't do anything but create trouble for legitimate users.
It sure as hell doesn't stop any professional 'pirates'.
.....not that it'll stop the 'security' gravy-train from continuing to roll.
I can only imagine how many millions of $/£/€ have been p*ssed up the wall with the last 2 versions of AACS and now this BD+ cr@p.
But ultimately it is us the paying customer that get charged for this stupidity & suffer it's idiotic consequences
(and who's really that surprised to find that many just aren't going to keep funding this BS & turn to ripped copies, eh?)

"when people will understand that the more restrictions, pressures and protection measures that are applied to limit the functionality of a thing, the fewer sales that will result, not more."
We might have had Raiders of the Lost Ark on Blu-Ray now if they hadn't pissed away millions on BD+. Lets face it..money talks..especially where Lucas is concerned.
Just face it Sony. If someone can write it, it will be cracked.
Accept it. Learn it. Embrace it, for the truth shall set you free.
Oh, and mad props to Slysoft!
Slysoft delivers yet again! This is what sets them apart from competion. This is how you generate revenues--by working for the people and not against the people.
Believe it. Slysoft comes out with up dates everyweek for AnyDVD to kill the new copy protection Sony tries to but on their regular DVD's.
These Slysoft folks are bad-as*es!
I'm happy that I bought Slysoft's programs. They are the best at what they do best.
I suppose this sort of thing is good for Sony at the same time. I read some artical on Afterdawn that suggested that the PS3 's poor sales is do to the fact the system is "un-moddable" I would not be surprize to see some correlation between finding a victor in the Hi-Def disc battle and piracy. For the same reason I have a Xbox 360, I would choose a Blue Ray burner. We'll see...
The industries will never learn. All they are doing is warding off prospective customers with all of their locks, blocks and consumer unfriendly applications. There will always be someone to crack the latest encryption method - so why waste the money in the first place for the development?
They should take that money and invest it in serious customer acquisition / retention to increase their revenues. They're only shooting themselves in the foot with their current defensive ( if not offensive) tactics.
Well done, Slysoft - you guys know customer satisfaction.
man Im really hoping that Sony/RIAA/WB doesnt end up buying out SLysoft with millions. Would the CEO jump ship if they threw enough cash at him?
I hope not!
Slysoft is the best ...and really cheap . Please let us help these guys and buy original keys !
It's good to see a company really taking down the media.
After DVD Decrypter was shut down, I wasn't sure if there was ever going to be anything like it. I'd really like to see SlySoft come out with some excellent ISO burning software, not that crappy CloneDVD2. Don't get me wrong, I like it, and it's pretty good, but I really preferred like the DVD Decrypter interface and such. But whatever, I still am very pleased with SlySoft's progress.
nothing will ever be secure, data is just data, the best drm gets broken someday, if it's hardware locked someguy comes out with a chip or with a simple mod. so why do they even bother they should spend that money on some other stuff... like try to lower the prices so ppl actually want to get a copy of their work not just rent it and make a BACKUP copy
I think DarkElder & Kerpalguy have something, this is a win-win for BD and all of the companies involved, including Sony. It’s a big plus to have security and have it circumvented even though this doesn’t really make sense. Look at DTV when their cards were hack-able they were the kings for satellite TV. As soon as they stopped hacking guess what everyone went to Dish because their card is exploitable and Dish grew to the size of DTV who lost customers to Dish. Even though there are plenty of these examples marketers and big business just won’t get it, the funny thing is that they instill things like Lessons Learned but apparently they don’t abide by their own rules, nothing new there.
Consumers are not going to embrace screwing around every time they want to play a movie because the player’s setup isn’t just so this is what killed the Divx rental scheme which went away very quickly upon reaching the market place.

Are you crazy? CloneDVD2 is way better then Decrypter although Decrypter was good too, for the time. And what a contradiction you say Clone is crappy but you like it too. What? Make up you mind either you like it or you don't, period. Bottom line CloneDVD2 is pretty good but could be improved unfortunately they aren't receptive to some minor changes that would make it even better.

Zippy I can read between the lines, I think that is just a nit and doesn't make CloneDVD2 CRAPPY! He is being picky and over stating a point, besides he can still use DVD Decrypter if he wants, although he will run into problems from time-to-time.
Wow so many of you guys are right. Spending money on protection's is such a waste of money. It just goes back to one of the fundamentals of economics, what is seen (they spend money on protections) and what is unseen (what better things they should be spending money on). But some people never learn... I think it would be really cool if someone could find some cold hard economical evidence that companies should not be spending their money on protection but use it for other things, and then throw it in the faces of the businesses wasting their money on protection and laugh... haha. Good job Slysoft.
Look. What I said is what I said. I think CloneDVD2 is a really good tool but still crappy in my opinion. It is just a movie burning program. It's not decrypting my PS2 games and such. And it's likely never going to decrypt any kind of games.
CloneDVD2 has had a worse success rate with me than DVD Decrypter ever did btw...
so let me get this straight...new encryption good for 10 years...broken...
jesus, is it just me or should companies REALLY stop shooting themselves in the foot, cause lately, the more they talk, they more they are looking dumber than hell
great job though!

Kinda reminds me of when 2K kept saying that Bioshock's online activation wasn't crackable. And then Darkcoder releases his crack days after release (which Lolcats stole and passed off as their own).
Nothing is uncrackable.
Hell even the Matrix was hacked!
Way to bring politics into a software discussion...
I said it's crappy yes, but it's still an admirable piece of software. I know it's an excellent piece of work but I just really don't like it. It is just a movie burning software...I guess the whole thing is a bit of limited functionality there. And the fact that you basically HAVE to have AnyDVD for it to work correctly...
DVD Decrypter was decryption, burning (not limited to movies) all in one. A truly amazing program.
But whatever. I'm glad SlySoft is doing well and that people really like their products.

You can always set CloneDVD to create an ISO and then burn it with Decrypter. Yes, clonedvd and anydvd cost money and decrypter didn't, but lets be honest here...50-60 dollars for two programs that ensure you can have a backup of any movie for the rest of your life is WELL worth it imo.

lower the prices or find ways for customer replacement when they scratch their blurays by accident or more blu-rays will be cracked
We should always be able to back up or property like BD disc's but unfortunately for us companies feel they need to overly secure their products from theft, hence encryption schemes. I still think/believe that if they price it right and market it proper theft won't be the issue it seems to be, as most people are pretty honest and law abiding. Lets face it there will always be theft, ALWAYS! But when you gouge then you really open up the means to cheat to get it.
It's a good thing companies like Slysoft have gone off shore in order to continue to provide us with such good software to circumvent violations of what should be our right. Poor XCopy lost this battle because they remained in the US, too bad for us.
That is exactly the tatics Microsoft uses. Buy out, or steal from, the competition a lot of big companies do this look at Disney as well as others.
Congrats to slysoft. These kind of updates or news...is candy to the ear. Just luv it.
I don't think Slysoft will ever be bought out by Sony or any other big corporation. I honestly feel Slysoft does what they do because they truly enjoy it and not because of the money. The same thing happened years ago when folks were hacking one of the major satellite providers (I won't give them any props here). This satellite provider was buying out companies just to get names and addresses of the folks that were buying hacking equipment and software. But the guys that were doing it because they enjoyed it and not for money kept on going.
I just noticed someone mentioned DirectTv earlier, I wasn't going to give them recognition but someone else already did...oops.
I can't believe that Giancarlo would sell out. We can all help to discourage him by buying legal keys. For the casual user there just is no better software and their policy of keeping regisrtered users up to date is an example to others. As mattkind says, let's keep on supporting them.
This article was the best i have read since my time here. It clearly stated that there is no stopping slysoft and truly it was well said when they mentioned about restrictions get rid of the restrictions and the sales will boom like anything,
If you can watch it, you can rip it.
Simple as that.
