We have largest HD library in the world, says VUDU

VUDU has announced today via a press release that they now offer the largest HD library on the planet, 1150 titles.
The company noted they reached the milestone by adding 600 new titles in October, both in regular HD and the company's high-end HDX format.

Overall, VUDU offers over 10,000 titles, with 1150 of those being available in HD or HDX.

"This is only the beginning of our effort," said Edward Lichty, Executive Vice President of Content at VUDU. "We plan to maintain a leadership position in offering the best picture quality experience and the deepest library anywhere when it comes to HD."

VUDU is in direct competition with the crowded HD streaming marketplace which includes major players Apple, Netflix and more.

Stupid + not thought out
VUDU may have thousands of HD films to download, but their $999
stackable VUDU XL box only stores 500 SD films (or around 50 HD films) on a paltry 1Tb HDD - how stupid is that as you need MUCH more ?

So that rules out downloading & keeping most of your films, so it forces you to keep renting them if you run out of room. And who has enough room to stack 4 of these to get a decent 4Tb of HDD space that HD films needs in order to store a decent amount of HD content.

My UK SkyHD box has been modded from 300Gb to 1Tb, but that box is meant just for temporarily storing SD+HD content from 1,000+ channels before watching them, unlike the VUDU in either case. Only draw back to Sky HD is the $95 p/m (65GBP) that includes $14.75 (10GBP) p/m HD subs.
