Apple iPad to have hardware shortages in March?

Apple iPad to have hardware shortages in March? Thanks to a new investor note by Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek, it appears that Apple will have hardware shortages for the iPad tablet this month, claiming that manufacturer Foxconn has an "unspecified production problem."
For its first month of availability, Apple may only have 300,000 tablets available for ship, about a third of what Apple's internal hopes had been.

Misek even believes that Apple may push back launch until April, to ensure they have 1 million tablets ready to ship.

Initially, the iPad was delayed thanks to "glass strength issues," says Electronista, and production was slowed to make sure quality was up to par.

Apple has declined to comment.

I was wondering how Apple was going to fake scarcity with this device when they were, for the first time, forced to mass produce the device due to the expense of manufacturing the CPU...

Apple products love news stories saying "SOLD OUT IN XX MINUTES." and if they had a million of these puppies at launch... there's no way it would sell out... now it's at least not impossible...

Just very unlikely - I don't think more than 300k are convinced this product is worth while, or useful... so it's going to be interesting to see what happens on launch day.

It's never a good idea to buy a product just based on aesthetics and gimmicks b/c the novelty of those will wear off and all you're left with is disappointment.

I was wondering how long it would take for the first Apple hater comment to appear.

Parts shortages happen all the time. There were also recent strikes at some asian factories. Do you scream "CONSPIRACY!" any time there's RAM shortages that even drive up prices...or if your local grocery store is out of an item???

Xiromisho, although you may believe Apple is trying to make an excuse for a sold out statement made across the net, maybe they are just making sure it works right... Not to follow the Microsoft XBox 360 fiasco. IE having 60% fail rate off of the production line, and then the knowledge that their systems would have the red eye of death just to release before Sony did... I find it funny how many people hate Apple, normally the underdog gets love... I acknowledge the overpricing, but for me, the quality and the ability to rely on my machine is worth the extra dough..

lol that last sentence made me laugh..what ability do u expect to rely on with this oversized ipod touch? the lack of flash? or maybe perhaps the lack of power any netbook under 400$ will give you ?
theres a difference between being an apple hater,a realistic and a fanboy. im a realistic sir, 3 guesses for you to tell me which trait fits you..

I never said I would buy an IPAD, in fact, it serves zero purpose for me. I would take the title fanboy, haha, but I would be willing to say that all the pieces of hardware which are similarly coming will functionally be lesser than that of the IPAD.

So ANYONE who would buy something you don't think is worth having is unreaslistic??? I think that's more elitist (which more fans or haters are) than realistic.
