Xbox 360 software attach rate grows Microsoft has noted that the software attach rate for their Xbox 360 console has grown to 8.1 titles.
The software giant also noted that third-party games are generating more revenue for publishers than the Nintendo Wii and the Sony PlayStation 3 combined. In total, for the month, third-party game sales reached $300 million USD on the Xbox 360.

"We've created the optimal line-up of experiences this holiday season for families seeking lasting entertainment value, particularly during rough economic times in the US and abroad,"
noted Don Mattrick, senior vice president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft.

"We have the largest library of games, TV and movie content and the most expansive and rewarding social experiences. We're confident Xbox 360 will continue to drive record sales around the world this holiday and beyond."

Including first-party titles, sales for the month were $408 million USD.

Thats insane 8.1 attachment rate. It crazy how some of sony and nintendo's exclusives are just walloped by a 3rd party game on the 360. Resistance 2 flopped HARD. It had less sales than gears 2 by far and even worse left 4 dead beat it out in less time and that supposed to be 1 of Sony's new big exclusives. Baiscally if your a male with a decent amount of testosterone the 360 is for you.

I'm surprised with the R2 flop as well... The game is very good actually. I like R2's ending way better than Gears 2. Sorry, Gears never have the descent story to start with, but i love the action :)

The only story worthy part of Gears 2 is Dominic's search for his wife, Maria. Then again, it has no depth, not too much of the couple's past is elaborated. Marcus and the Anya chick definitely up to something. If Marcus calls her name one more in the game, he's a douche...

Sorry for the OT, anyhow back to the topic, i don't see how the attachment rate for the Xbox 360 is better than PS3 and Wii. In my personal collection, all three consoles are pretty even in terms of games. Maybe the count included downloadable games on Live?
