Microsoft selling seven Windows 7 copies every second

Microsoft selling seven Windows 7 copies every second Microsoft has announced that it is selling seven copies of Windows 7 every second, making it the fastest selling operating system in the company's history.
Notes Brandon LeBlanc, Microsoft's in-house Windows blogger: "Windows 7 is the fastest selling operating system in history."

The company has sold over 150 million Windows 7 licenses in the past 8 months, and LeBlanc says that 75 percent of enterprises are either deploying it or actively evaluating the operating system.

IW adds that Microsoft may still have its hands full trying to convince IT managers to move from XP Pro to Windows 7, as the memory (or nightmare some would say) of Vista is still fresh.

Vista left many concerns of application compatibility and stringent hardware requirements, and who could forget about the UAC.

Windows 7 has addressed most of those issues, however, including the implementation of XP Mode for compatibility.

More realistically, most IT managers are pushing to get windows 7 so they don't have to keep fixing the vista machines every week.

Great Job on W7 Microsoft, it only took about 25 years to come up with an OS that is ALMOST as good as OS2 was 15 years ago. After briefly revisiting Windows 3.0 aka Vista.

Oh, when I think of the endless hours spent trying to get 3.1 networked and the joy of the company COO breathing down my neck wanting to know where all his money went. Explaining why everyday when she started her PC it did something different.

If I could only be compensated for MY time I would be getting Windows OS's on gold plated cd's for the rest of my life.

Agreed, I think they trying to boast in hopes of creating more sales; but in all honesty nobody freaking cares. Most people by 7 cause they need it, or are comfortable with it. Others will simply steal it, which is like 7 times the number its sells.

7 is not as bad as Vista, but like Mystic said, if people are comfortable with it, go for it. Personally I only use it to sync my iPhone; and as soon as that done I reboot and run back to Ubuntu; which until now, hasn't failed me like every Window$ OS out there did.

Considering that much of it is pirated from other corporations, technically, every copy of windows 7 is pirated.
