I used T&R for years but after going with MediaMonkey for a player + library manager, I found it had much more powerful and user-friendly tag editing capabilities than T&R.

Tag&Rename is a handy management utility designed for MP3 and VQF music files.
With Tag&Rename you can quickly and easily rename your music collection using the embedded tag data within .mp3 and .vqf files, write new or edit existing ID3 tag information, create tags based on file names and get songs information from CDDB.
Tag&Rename supports both ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags. This program is a very useful playlister with recursive subfolders support and unique file list. Tag&Rename is very easy to use and highly configurable. In addition, it has helpful notes and description of menu commands built into the interface to help speed up your understanding and use of the program.

I've been using T&R for years. It is by far the best tagger out there. It has be perfect combination of easy to use yet tons and tons of advanced features. The layout is superb with tons of information. Well well well worth the $30 or however much it is. You won't be disappointed.

How come 3.5RC2 released today (13-feb-09) is "older" than a relisting of RC1 from last Oct09?

This version 3.5RC1 was released in Oct08. Had expected the final release by now. Author unresponsive to requests for help & information (never replies to emails).
