mp3DirectCut is a small tool for editing MP3 files directly, without any quality loss to the original file. You can remove parts, change the volume, split files or copy regions to several new files. All without the need to decompress your MP3 into a PCM format. This saves work, encoding time and disk space. And there is no quality loss through any re-compressions!

Go with Audacity instead, even if you lose audio quality by re-encoding, at lease you will work with a software that has real editing capacity.

its perfect for cutting beginning or end but not splitting and joining it does big chirp cant be avoided no matter how perfect of a spot when you try and join parts that have been split witch sound blaster live CD does perfectly

Just downloaded the software. I was able to split a large MP3 file by using the "Set Begin" & "Set End" buttons within the "Edit" section of the program, located in the bottom left hand corner. <br/> <br/>Previous work with VirtualDub editing, helped me jump on this way of wokring. You can always reset the beginning and end points...and simply export the selection as an MP3 with the "Save Selection" command within the "File" menu option. <br/> <br/>A short-tip: once you've selected your selection points don't click on the wav format because it will reset them and mess up your hard work.
