Ad-supported
Vista / Win10 / Win7 / Win8 / WinXP
DivX is an implementation of the popular low-bitrate MPEG-4 standard. It means basically that you need to have this software installed in your computer if you want to watch or encode DivX movies.

This version is the latest version of this codec and gives you the best picture quality. This version is meant for playback of DivX -encoded movie files, whether using .avi or .divx extension.

This version of the DivX is for Windows 2000/XP operating systems only. If you wish to download a version for Win98/ME instead, you can find it from here.

Also, if you'd like to download a DivX version that is meant for creating DivX movies, download the DivX Create instead.

DivX Plus v9.0

This is not freeware, but time coded....

DivX v6.8.2.8

I have known this codec failed to work properly when a subtitle is muxed in the certified divx file. What it does...
1) When a subtitle detected in divx file, divx will select "enabled" as default without showing any subtitles until user click on subtitle, it then show (it should be off by default).
2) Subtitle shows until user pause/unpause then won't show even when re-selecting subtitle to display til user scroll the timeline bar, it will then display again.
3) When subtitle in divx file, all the features, brightness, contract, processing, film effects are not responsing (it responses to divx medias without subtitles.
4) Subtitle not showing smooth edge when a text (srt) file muxed in the media.
I have tested all the divx files without subtitles, works just perfect. Have DivX forgotten to check their codec with subtitles? Believe they are too focus on their stage 6 website. "Wake up DivX! Your pro is being paid for".

I love what this program does. But has any one else experienced problems playing files in Windows Media player after installing this? I keep getting errors.
