64GB Zune HD now up for sale Although set for launch next week, it appears Microsoft has jumped the gun and begun selling the 64GB model of the Zune HD early.
The model sells for $349 USD, which is a $50 discount from the comparable iPod Touch model.

Additionally, Microsoft has dropped the price of smaller capacity models, with the 16GB model dropping to an MSRP of $200 and the 32GB model to $270. Of course, Amazon has the players for much cheaper, ($170 for the 16GB for example) but seeing the MSRP drop is a good start for other e-tailers.

The price is comparable to other MP3 players but it seems crazy that you can almost buy two 360s for the price of a Zune.

It's the portability and other premium features that Apple doesn't offer that makes it this price, but yeah I can get myself a Sansa Fuze (8GB @$70) and 4 16GB microSD cards (@$50/piece) for that price, but it depends on what is defined as a great player by consumer's preference.

I have a 32HD and it's simply the best portable music player I've owned. (since back to my first, a Diamond Rio 256K)
It'll soon be merged into their Windows Mobile 7 phone, but as of now it's worth a look for a great PMP.

Oh god it's ugly...that was microsoft's main selling point...the fact that it did not look like a POS apple...now they don't even have that.

Sure, it might be better than an iPod touch, but no one cares about features; if they did, they would get an android device.
