The PSN Pass, which means second-hand users need to buy a code from Sony for $10 to be able to play online, was introduced this year with the launch of Resistance 3.
Uncharted 3 is set for release on November 1st.
Just can't win for loosing...
Greedy bastards. I hold the purse strings in this house and it won't be bought.
Unless you buy the game used, then there's nothing to worry about, guys.
Agree to disagree, but that game IS that damn good. I'll probably get it used anyway and just play the single player. I learned what a waste of time multiplayer was when I pissed away hours and months leveling up. I'm still against this DRM, since it's a direct attack on the used games market. There's no excuse for it. Measures are already taken to prevent Custom Firmware consoles from playing backups or "pirated copies" online. This may be acceptable for PC games, but not for a PS3 exclusive.
How would they know if you bought the game new or used?
Originally posted by oneguy:Probably like the old PC counterparts do, there will now be a code key to enter after it loads before it allows you to start playing. So even though you only want to play 'just' the single campaign they may still screw you into paying the additional $10 clams as that little prickly legged butt bug from the hacker attack & game freebie over the summer.

Yep just like Mortal Kombat it will ask you to input the code where it comes with the game. If you input it and it says it's be already claim then you need to buy 10.00 pass online.
If you're lucky enough, no one input the code just like when I bought the game Lips The Number one hit and I input the code and it worked even though the codes where getting free song packs :)
Might as well buy the game a new one since it's only 5.00 more.
Some people just pop in the game then play then they didn't know there's a free code to play online and they buy the pass online haha.
I'll wait til its either £15 on Platinum label or £8 at my local CEX store!!
