A bit rich of Afterdawn to claim an exclusive download to the new Firefox. Follow their download link and it will install the Firefox Beta which has been available to the world & his wife for over a month now and is still incompatible with most add ons as the final release is not available yet.. Some exclusive !

Yup it's still Beta - I just checked also lol - good old afterdawn advertising a universally available beta download tester as an exclusive.

I must agree with the second statement because Domie is clueless. Claiming it's a "release" sounds right and I am on Beta 5 of it and ALL addons I use work flawlessly. Download statusbar, forecast fox, foxtab, Amazon wishlist button, adblock plus, adblock plus pop-up blocker.

Go look again.

The staff was sent a note from the software team that they had gotten 8.0 Final from the Mozilla servers.

Upon install the about page reads "8.0 and release channel."

If this is not accurate, our apologies, but that is the story.

Well get one of the staff to try testing it by installing it and see the tab that opens saying "welcome to firefox beta"

I noticed that when checking the about after my original post, and was a bit confused as both the title bar and page the install sent you to said beta.

said beta on mine too,but its not.

It matches the file size of the 'preliminary' final release on Mozilla's servers, but I'd rather wait until it's officially released.

Is this your idea of defining "most" add ons do not work on 8.0? I have about 20 add ons and only 3 broke. Fast Dial, Linky 2.0, No referrer, and Java Console. Fast Dial, I got an updated version from the devs website. Fixed that problem. No referrer, not a big deal. Linky? Replaced it with a Grease Monkey Script that seems to a better alternative anyways. So thats 3 out of about 20. That and your Norton junk hardly seems to qualify as "most" imo.

I don't use FF too often but the only one that "broke" for me was Java Console.

STop using that Norton safe this and security that crap. Truly a sign of a delinquent and novice computer user. None-the-less, all add-ons work......PERIOD. Figure out how to use your computer and you'll do just fine.

No Google toolbar support. No FF for me. Too bad because I love FF. I know there's a workaround but that won't last forever so I'm getting used to IE. Definitely more buggy than FF.

I have a Cisco firewall and Kaspersky running. I'll leave Norton to the soccer moms. LOL.

Hey, so I just downloaded this and checked About Firefox... I'm getting Firefox running 9.0 on the Beta channel. Am I the only one with that?
