Members of IMAGiNE release group get indicted Four members of the popular IMAGiNE scene release group are facing up to thirty years in prison for criminal copyright infringement.
The group was busted last year by ICE, and the four defendants, aged 27-57, now face jailtime. Although obviously unconfirmed, there have been rumors for months that the group was sold out by a rival scene release group with a grudge.

Jeramiah Perkins, 39, of Portsmouth, Va., Gregory Cherwonik, 53, of New York, Willie Lambert, 57, of Pennsylvania, and Sean Lovelady, 27, of California were each charged with a single count of conspiracy to commit criminal copyright infringement and two counts of criminal copyright infringement.

Perkins, Cherwonik and Lambert are also charged (via Freak) with two more counts of criminal copyright infringement while Perkins and Cherwonik are charged with a sixth count of criminal copyright infringement of a work being prepared for commercial distribution.

Each count brings up to five years in prison.

A few of the films listed as being reproduced and distributed by the group were "The Green Hornet," "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and "Yogi Bear" although they released hundreds.

And yet there are c*suckers that get less for murder or rape.

I mean, 2 out of the 3 films literally wouldn't sell anyway. So I don't know what kind of grand commercial distribution they're talking about.

The Green Hornet - 22 mill short of breaking even...
The Chronicles of Narnia: VDT - 55 mill short
Yogi Bear - +20million

Yogi didn't make up for a third of the turd both of the supposed 'moneymakers' should have reaped.

Sounds to me like these poor bastards are going to serve a life's ass raping sentence for Hollywood's mistakes like that trying to play out in the the Voltage Pictures case against some 2500+ people & the "Hurt Locker" debacle.

Personally I think the whole thing stinks. Caught, charged, tried, juror-ed & hung in less than a year (basically)? Oh to be sodomized by a silver back gorilla, it still took a year minimum for Scott Peterson... This turd hunt started about 18Sep2011 & here it is about 6 months later...

There's vomit in the petunias...

Too bad someone affiliated with the rival release group didn't dispatch some Jedi to mediate the dispute before this tragic incident occurred.

Obviously you know NOTHING about the scene and should just not talk.

Imagine is one of the best release groups out there. Well on par with aXXo and they did there own tweaking not just ripping. It's going to be a shame to lose them.......

I totally agree with the rape and murder stuff, it's utter bullshit that a child molester will get out most of the time in under 10 years but these people are facing 30!!?? It's disgusting how things are done and I hope they fight it tooth and nail. I would support them 100% just like I tried to help Geohot's p*ssy ass, but he caved and let down the 10s of thousands that supported him.

not sure if trolling or massively ignorant.

a huge shame, IMAGiNE knew their re-encoding and tweaks well. Looks like EP1C now have some big trouble on their hands when the scene world starts realising it was them who dropped IMAGiNE in it.

woops...

Yep, thirty years is extreme. If these guys were 92 years old they would have gotten away with it! Around my neck of the woods we have convicted rapists walking around with ankle bracelets. Check online and you'll probably find a child molester nearby. It's a sick crazy world where people care more about copyright infringement than their own kids and others well being.

Can't make money off child molesters or rapists... unless you made an award winning documentary about it or equally selling movie depicting such acts...

Makes you wonder who the more sick f*ks are...

Totally unfair, but not totally unexpected. The copyright owners can spend more money on lobbyists to forward their agenda, than the victims of violent crimes can. So it's no surprise that politicians interests are more aligned with the copyright owners, than they are with the people they are *supposed* to be serving. Yep, no surprise at all...
