Gmail video chat gets Hangouts Google has announced today that Gmail's video chat system will be upgraded and rehauled.
The new update will bring Google+ Hangouts, a popular feature of the social network.

By doing so, the quality and performance of video chats through Gmail should improve significantly. If you have a Google+ account, you will also be able to communicate with up to 9 other participants at the same time. Currently, Gmail only lets you do one-on-one.

Additionally, Gmail users with Google+ accounts will be able to watch YouTube videos simultaneously, share Google docs and even share screens.

Finally, you can chat with all Google+ circles through Gmail now, not just your Gmail friends.
