Amazon Kindle Paperwhite delayed due to strong demand

Amazon has said today that any new orders (as of this morning) of the new Kindle Paperwhite will be delayed.
The new e-reader with a backlight for nighttime reading will now ship on October 22nd instead of the original October 1st date.

Reads the product's page: "Due to popular demand, orders placed today are expected to ship the week of October 22nd. Limit five per customer."

Anyone who pre-ordered will have their device shipped on the 1st as promised.

The company unveiled the device alongside new Kindle Fire tablets at a press event earlier this year.

I ordered mine on Sept 10th and even then it told me not to expect to receive my order until Oct 18th - 22nd. It only takes 2-3 days to get from the distribution center to my house so that means shipping about the 15th. So they have been delaying orders since the first week. Why are you reporting this now?
