New Nexus 7 revealed in leaked press image The ever resourceful @Evleaks has revealed the press image for another upcoming device, this time the second-generation Google Nexus 7.
On July 24th, Android boss Sundar Pichai is expected to officially launch the tablet, which should be quite similar to the first-generation device but with updated specs.

From the image, we can see that the device will add a second camera (on the rear side) and the leaked specs are a large improvement, as well.

The 7-inch display is expected to now have a 1920x1200 resolution, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and dual rear-facing speakers for improved sound. Additionally, the device should be the first with Android 4.3.

Besides being available through the Google Play Store, the device will be available at Best Buy, Staples and other retailers, as well.

What is the CPU?

Will it be the same price as the number one or more expensive? How much will the first one be reduced by I wonder?

bezel is too big and the screen looks small.

So we got a faster APU(CPU+GPU) which is the snapdragon s4 pro but because of the new 1080p screen resolution we lose that speed gain.

Basically it is the same speed as the last one unless you can set the apps to run at lower resolution because of this change.

If we all leave comments on the weblink below it will help push a new feature allowing us to change our screen resolution for gaming.

Yeah but ram generally only helps you at multitasking or run programs that are heavy dependent on memory.
Realistically over rated by adverts on TV to speed PC's up, in fact most PCs are slow down by their cpu and harddrive spin speed.

Yawn...About as exciting as selecting toilet paper.

I see the speakers are still on on the back.... and not true stereo either. Was really hoping they would fix that.

There's certainly enough room on the bezel for relatively large speakers.

Exactly, why they decided to keep them on the back mystifies me.
Granted it looks like they moved it to the top but if anything the old nexus speakers could be cupped by your hand while holding it and sort of redirect the sound waves to a listenable volume to your ears. Now you'll just be annoying the heck out of the person seated in front of you at (conference, bus, plane...).

I really just want stereo speakers, hidden just along the edges of the bezel but still visible enough to give a nice frame. And one on each side of the screen like any television made after the 1970s.....
