Samsung Galaxy S4 owners seeing Android 4.3 update Samsung has kept their promise of getting Android 4.3 out to Galaxy S4 owners by the end of October.
The update has begun rolling out today, starting in Germany but will eventually get to all carriers across the globe, even the notoriously slow U.S. wireless industry.

Change list:
- OpenGL 3.0 Support
- GALAXY GEAR Support
- TRIM Support (Makes the device much faster)
- ANT+ Support
- Samsung KNOX Implementation (KNOX bootloader and dedicated application)
- Samsung Wallet comes pre-loaded
- Improved RAM management
- Improved Display colour reproduction (Display looks much sharper than before)
- Improved TouchWiz Launcher (Much less launcher redraws and less lag)
- New Samsung Keyboard
- New Samsung Browser (Full screen by default, new tab interface and more)
- New Reading Mode (Optimises display for reading, used by only a few specific applications)
- New Camera firmware
- Minor UI tweaks (Contacts app, Flashlight Widget, dialog boxes etc)

Samsung also says the update will bring 20 percent benchmark improvement, due to the OS alone.

Seems they've already given up their support for the S3. That sucks. I have no intentions of upgrading.

They seem in a huge hurry to come out with new products to stay ahead of Apple...

i just read that the S5 is gonna be announced Q1 of next year, with i assume the S6 about 3 weeks later.

Android 4.3, for the Galaxy S3, will be available sometime in November. They haven't given up support for the S3.

I wonder why they haven't bothered issuing the 4.2 update and go straight for the 4.3.

*shrug* It won't matter much, once Cyanogenmod goes live on the Play Store.

I was wondering the same thing, myself. They quit after 4.1.2.

Who goes what where? Why would Cyanogenmod be on the play store? I am already running 4.3 courtesy of them on my s3. Very nice.

Cyanogenmod has publicly declared that they will be on the Play Store "Soon(tm)". Along with an app for the PC to automate that process (probably put into the phone's storage upon install, much like EasyTether's PC client, so it can be copied over), it will automate rooting your phone and installing Cyanogenmod.

It can certainly already be done, but the Play Store Cyanogenmod release is supposed to pretty much fully automate the procedure, a BIG plus for many users.
