- Just because a competitor is doing better at the moment, is no reason you can't improve your own performance. No one knows what the future will bring, and Ed Fries' suggestions make a lot of sense, especially his comparisons of VR to the 3D market.
- The XBone still sells just fine. Yes, the PS4 currently outsells it, but it is NOT even close to dead.
- Both the PS4 and XBone are merely gimped midrange PCs, nothing more. You'd be better off buying a Steambox when they hit the market (which lets you install/change what you like) or an actual PC for the same amount of money or less; either would then let you significantly improve your system in the future, as well.
- No one likes a fanboi. Make a REAL argument or be dismissed as a raving teenager.

- Exclusive titles are on both systems. Playstation has had long-term experience in delivering quality exclusives that MS cant match. Everyone knows that.
- Just because MS is doing poorly doesnt mean you should ass kiss the Xbone to death for no apparent reason other than to satisfy the fanboy in you. Look at VR. Its expected to sell more than what MS is doing. Keep using sign language on that lame Kinect.
- Sales in a competitive world is measured in relative terms, not absolute ones. At the rate that Sony is selling the PS4, the Xbone is slowly sealing its timely death.
- Correction. The PS4 is NOT a PC. Its a gaming console thats installed in more living rooms than the Xbone. The living room is an entertainment area that MS failed to get buyers to install the Xbone in. You'd be better off buying a PC with i7 core and 8GB ram. But you'll have to spend extra hundreds of dollars on it.

News Flash!! Sony is in major financial trouble. Sales from their gaming division may mean jack squat if the rest of the company is bleeding cash to the point of bankruptcy.

Heres a fact based list just for you:
- Many titles are exclusives to each console. Not noting the quality differences on both is ignorant. edited by ddp
- MS is doing poorly. Theyre lagging behind sony PS4 and now game publishers are thinking about dropping some games from xbox one. Matter of fact, MS is doing very badly with their windows phone 8, windows 8 o/s, and of course its gaming unit. You should make google your friend next time.
- Profit is measured in.. relatives.. as its used to compare the progress of a company with another. And the profits from MS gaming division is in poor standing compared with sony's. DUHHHHHH.

Really? Why don't you explain to us what "OtherOS" on the PS3 was, hmm? In fact, you CAN use a keyboard and mouse with both consoles, with the proper hardware, and the only thing preventing them from being general-use PCs is the OS itself. Even then, the XBone WILL run Metro apps, which can certainly include ones meant for productivity, not gaming.

Why aren't people rushing to buy an XBone (or PS4) as a general PC? Because it would be silly to do so, if that's all you wanted; you could buy a cheapo office PC for $300 or so. My observation that both systems are essentially slightly gimped midrange gaming PCs (with specialized OSes) still stands, bucko, and it's not just my impression. Maybe if you tried some research and reading? lol

That said, I think the fact that - so far at least - the PS4 better handles 1080p much better out of the gate (although that gap is shrinking rapidly, apparently) has been a serious blow to the XBone's fortunes.

What I read online is that they're almost exactly comparable in raw power, but the XBone is significantly more difficult to program for than the PS4, due to its "multimedia hub" design, rather than the PS4's directly game-centric design. Amusingly enough, this is pretty much a direct reversal of the last generation of consoles; the "Cell" CPU in the PS3 was apparently a real bear to properly use, but a real beast when you did so.

You know the funny thing I find with all the usual wind & noise over the new Sony & MS consoles is that hardly anyone is prepared to acknowledge both are doing very well.
Compared to the last gen both are up in sales.

XB1 may well 'win' eventually, who knows, it is far too early to say.
I do know my PS4 owning friends are not exactly rushing to buy games right now as there isn't exactly a ton of 'must have' games for it (yet).

In the UK we have already seen bundles & price cutting to whittle away the PS4 cost advantage.
It'll be another 2yrs or so until each really get into their stride & the outcome of that is far from clear, no matter what the fanboy gang claim.

Well? What are you saying, that I didn't already..? I simply don't see it. In fact, what's being said online is that while there was an initial difference, that's rapidly disappearing as developers learn to code for the XBone. Again, this is a reversal of the XBox 360/PS3 paradigm.

You probably should be a little more subtle, by the way, when making a new account; you're not fooling anyone. Nor is indirectly calling a mod a liar a particularly good idea on any forum. The not owning a game console is fair enough if you don't play games but i thought the curiosity of game consoles would of had you trying to mod/hack/patch them or fix them or even try to write programs for them or modify software to run on them.

Here in australia some computer business also do modding and repairs on game consoles.

I havn't actually played the new xbox or the ps4 1 day i might get 1 if i like them,for now there are limited number of games & bugs that will be detected and hopefully fixed in the future,also the price will drop on both consoles.

xboxdvl2, i've attempted to fix a ps3 slim once for a customer's daughter whose dog peed on the console. corroded the keyboard & keyboard data cable & couldn't find replacements off ebay as this was different from normal ps3 slim.
