Facebook did it again: Stand-alone Facebook Groups mobile app

Despite the s..tstorm caused by forced extraction of messaging into Facebook Messenger, Facebook wont give up. This time around the social media giant is spinning off its groups feature into a stand-alone mobile app, called Facebook Groups.
Unlike with Messenger, company isn't removing the group features from its main mobile app, at least not yet, but instead, tries to give users an alternative way to use Facebook groups.

Facebook currently owns three of the world's top five mobile apps, according to App Annie's charts: Facebook app, Messenger app and Instagram.

As expected, Facebook Groups is available for iOS and Android, download links are here:

I don't mind the standalone messenger. It's like texting and sure beats the old chat bubble popups that plagued previous iterations of the main Facebook app.

That said, groups isn't necessary like Messenger or even Pages.

Glad they don't port this crap to BlackBerry.

I actually liked when Faceboook took out the messaging features of the Facebook app. I tried and tried to disable it and finally I didn't have to. I like to check FB and update my status every once in a while on the go but the messenger app was annoying. I much rather have the messenger app work like email and FB does not have good options for that..
