Microsoft confirms 110 million Windows 10 installs Microsoft has confirmed another milestone for its Windows 10 operating system: 110 million installs since launch in July.
A couple of other numbers the company threw out were the amount of webpages served through the new Microsoft Edge browser, 650 billion, and the amount of questions that have been asked to the voice activated digital assistant Cortana, at one billion.

In its first month of release, Windows 10 saw 75 million installs, so an extra 35 million in the second month is a figure we are sure Microsoft is proud of.

Of course, a significant amount of the installs are likely those with Windows 7 and 8 upgrading for free to the new operating system, so the next few months will be telling as real sales trickle in.

Not all that impressive when you force install it on to any computer with Auto Updates turned on. This install was an NSA wet dream, No way in Hell I will let this Surveillance center onto my PC after testing it out on my Laptop every time I turned the Camera and Microphone off, within a week they would be turned back on. Just to think the 110 Million users who are fine with Microsofts behavior.

I wonder what the number is for reversions back to 7/8. That's something you'll likely never hear about.

Thanks for the tip! :)

As for being a privacy lover I don't think I have all that interesting of a life for there to be anyone enough to care about watching, As for metadata and usage etc. I really couldn't care less what Microsoft or others do with the info as its just added along with millions of others giving no real particular insight on me personally, and I doubt any entity is going to pay any individual to keep an eye on me as I abide by the laws.

Though when it comes to controlling my Camera and Microphone allowing for surveillance into my living room, thats where I draw the line.

As we all should given the numerous reports of NSA employees abusing their privileges to spy on their ex's, family, friends, etc.

Microsoft really needs to address how many ACTIVE Windows 10 OS's are out there. That will certainly clear up everything regarding the legitimacy of the numbers.
