Verizon brings back activation fees

According to new reports, Verizon will bring back activation fees on November 15th, a fee that many thought was gone forever when T-Mobile started their war on the industry.
Verizon will charge $20 for all customers adding a new line of service, at least if you go on a payment plan but it is unclear if the fee still applies if you are bringing your own device to the carrier.

The carrier actually ended their activation fee, which was formerly $40, this summer when it ended two-year contracts.

Huh? I just signed up for a new 2 year contract and was charged a $40 activation fee last week.

Sounds about right, In a Country where we pay the highest fees for the most limited of features, would you expect anything different?

I have been wanting to get a cheaper carrier but I have 8 months to go on my contract. Does anyone know if we can get out of it .

Won't most carriers pay your early termination fees?
