XviD Codec v1.3.3

Open source
Win2k / Win98 / WinME / WinXP
XviD codec allows you to watch (and create) MPEG-4 compatible video files.

XviD is an MPEG-4 compatible codec, which produces very good video quality -- something that really competes with DivX.

This version of the codec is built by Koepi -- there are several binary versions available, but as this seems to be the most popular one, that's why it is in on our site.

XviD Codec v1.1.3 (Koepi's 28.06.2007 Final Build)

Xvid is a MPEG-4 video codec. So is DivX. Xvid is free and open source, DivX isn't (though it was based on Xvid).

Xvid is superior to DivX in quality, speed and compatibility, but DivX isn't far behind in quality.
