ePSXe (enhanced PlayStation emulator) is a free PlayStation 1 emulator for Windows with extensive game support.
Through the use of plugins, ePSXe supports GPU, Sound and CD-ROM functions. Games can be booted directly from an optical disc drive or from support image file formats (bin, cue, img etc.). Some games require patches to run properly and fix glitches.
It is relatively easy to configure gamepads with ePSXe (e.g. Xbox 360 controllers) in Windows using the config wizard.
NOTE: ePSXe does not include an official PlayStation 1 BIOS image. The BIOS is copyrighted by Sony and therefore cannot be legally distributed without permission from Sony, therefore the user must provide a BIOS file.
ePSXe v1.9.25 includes HLE BIOS support, which means it can mimic a PlayStation BIOS but compatibility will be lower than usual an official PlayStation BIOS.
