Windows 10 Technical Preview

Microsoft has decided to pull a recent build of its Windows 10 Technical Preview for a few of its cheaper, low-end Lumia smartphones after early testers reported their phones bricking after the update.

According to Microsoft's Gabriel Aul, the first upcoming Windows 10 Technical Preview will support Windows Phone devices that only have 512MB of RAM.

Yesterday, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 would be a free upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users (including Windows Phone) but Windows RT was notably left out of the conversation.

Microsoft unusually instructed users running the Windows 10 Technical Preview to uninstall Microsoft Office products before attempting to install a required patch.

Microsoft has announced that over 1 million consumers have registered to be part of the Windows Insider program that allows for earlier beta testing of the upcoming Windows 10 operating system.
