Wow, wonder how much profits they will lose.
This looks like its going to be a major call back. It's not a good sign for the samsung group but at least their willing to fix the issue.
will this not effect other brands like sony who purchase the screens from samsung?

The tuner was bad not the screen.
Glad to see a company step up and admit a mistake and then take the proper corrective action. Not too often this happens.

Most companies will not admit defects for fear of being sued.
Even after this I am sure someone in California will sue them!

I have 3 samsung TV's albeit small ones and they are fine. I appreciate a company that will stand by their products and admit faults. Certain computer makers should take note and not force people to buy another PC because there's a hardware problem.(I believe its called field testing)
