A .ratDVD file has been created with the software ratDVD. ratDVD can compress an entire DVD movie to one single file including menus with full functionality, all extras, all audio tracks, all angles and any other material on the disc. Of course, it is up to the user what parts of the DVD to keep and what not to. The result .ratDVD file is usually several gigabytes smaller.

If you have obtained a .ratDVD file, you need to install ratDVD on a Windows 2000 or Windows XP Operating System to view it. ratDVD is freeware.
