In the Internet piracy scene a DivX Re-Enc is a movie that has been taken from its original VCD source and re-encoded to a smaller DivX file. These have become more common as VCD sources are generally large in size and harder to view than DivX files. In general re-encodes lose quality from the original source, so DivX Re-Encs are not very popular.
