ESRB

ESRB, which stands for the Entertainment Software Rating Board, was established in 1994 by The Entertainment Software Association (ESA).

ESRB assigns computer and video game content ratings, enforces advertising guidelines and ensures responsible privacy practices for the interactive entertainment software industry. In doing so they help hold the industry responsible for fair marketing practices and assist consumers in choosing what video and computer games they buy.

The ESRB uses a two part rating system. Firstly a rating category to suggest age appropriateness along with a content descriptor to suggest what content may be of interest to the consumer.
