CES

CES refers to the International Consumer Electronics Show, an annual event that takes place in January. CES is one of the largest trade shows for consumer electronics in the world, and attracts literally thousands of journalists and visitors each year. Companies from the world's largest electronics firms and smaller show off new products, prototypes and make announcements to the press. CES first started in 1967, when it was held in New York City.

Now it is held at the Los Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some of the notable products that were unveiled at CES are Microsoft's first Xbox games console, Laserdisc, Commodore 64 and more recently, the first dual Blu-ray / HD DVD player in 2007.
